The short version. Every result on this site is an estimate, not a quote and not a forecast. Costs come from published brochure bands and resort prices that change constantly; snow confidence comes from altitude, geography and past seasons, and no resort can promise snow in any week. We are not a travel agent or tour operator and we don't sell anything: every booking is between you and the operator, on its terms. Before you book, get a live quote, check the operator's financial protection, read its terms, and buy travel insurance that covers winter sports.
1. Who we are and agreeing to these terms
Ski Week Finder (skiweekfinder.co.uk) is run by Lanternfish Media ("we", "us", "our"). These terms apply to the resort finder, the guides and everything else on this site. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Results are estimates, not quotes or forecasts
The finder ranks resorts from the answers you give and a set of general assumptions. The estimated cost of a week is built from package price bands taken from operators' brochures, multiplied for the week and the airport you choose, plus published lift pass, hire, lesson and food prices and typical child discounts. Real prices depend on the date you book, the accommodation, the airline, availability and the operator's own offers, and they change daily. The figures here are for comparing resorts and deciding where to ask for quotes, nothing more.
Snow confidence is a score from the resort's altitude, the direction its slopes face, whether it has a glacier, how much snowmaking it has, its average snowfall and the week of the season. It describes how reliable cover has been historically. It is not a forecast, not a report of current conditions, and not a promise of snow, open lifts or good skiing in any week. Words such as "very likely good cover", "usually fine" and "a gamble" describe the score only.
Journey times are estimates from published flight and transfer times. Operators, routes and airports served change every season, and the list of operators shown for a resort may be incomplete or out of date.
3. Your responsibilities before you book
It is your decision where to go, who to book with and what to spend. Before you book, you should:
- get a live quote from the operator for your dates, airport, accommodation and group, and treat our figure as superseded by it;
- check that a package holiday is financially protected (ATOL for holidays that include a flight, ABTA or an equivalent bond for others) and understand what protection you have if you book the parts separately;
- read the operator's booking conditions, including deposits, balance dates, changes, cancellation and what happens if a resort has no snow;
- buy travel insurance that covers winter sports, off-piste if you plan to ski it, and cancellation, before you pay a deposit;
- check the resort's own snow report and lift status close to the date, and the operator's advice if conditions are poor;
- check passport validity, visa and entry requirements, and health requirements for everyone travelling;
- confirm childcare, lessons, lift pass ages and any age limits directly with the provider;
- judge for yourself, or with a qualified instructor, whether a resort's slopes suit each person's ability. Skiing and snowboarding carry a risk of injury.
4. We are not a travel agent and this is not professional advice
We don't sell holidays, flights, transfers, lift passes, hire, lessons or insurance, and we don't take bookings or payments. We are not travel agents, tour operators, ski instructors, mountain guides, meteorologists or financial advisers, and nothing on this site is professional, travel, safety, weather or financial advice. The site is general information only.
5. Our content and its accuracy
We try to keep the information on this site accurate and up to date, but we don't promise that it is accurate, complete or current, or that the site will always be available or free of errors. Resort figures, prices and operator lists carry the date they were compiled. The site and its content are provided free of charge, as they are.
6. Our liability to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude or limit. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, and as far as the law allows:
- we are not responsible for any loss or damage that results from relying on an estimate or score from this site without carrying out the checks in section 3;
- we are not responsible for the price, quality, availability, performance, cancellation or financial protection of any holiday, flight, transfer, accommodation, lift pass, hire, lesson or insurance you book with anyone;
- we are not responsible for weather, snow or lift conditions in any resort in any week;
- we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you used the site, or for any business losses;
- our total liability to you for all claims connected with the site is limited to £50.
7. Booking with operators and other businesses
Any booking you make is between you and the operator, airline, accommodation, hire shop, transfer company, ski school or insurer, on their terms, including their prices, payment, changes, cancellation and complaints procedures. Package holidays sold in the UK are covered by the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, and the organiser, not us, is responsible to you under them. Prices and availability shown here change often; the operator's page is always the one that counts.
8. Affiliate links
This site is reader-supported. Some links to operators, hire shops, transfer companies, insurers and retailers are affiliate links: if you book or buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Cards show "Paid links" where any link on them is an affiliate link. Commissions do not change how the finder ranks resorts, which is decided only by your answers.
9. Other websites and trademarks
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, prices or policies. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any resort, lift company, operator or other business named on this site. Resort, operator and brand names are the trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify them.
10. Privacy
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Your answers are saved only in your own browser so the result survives a reload, and nothing you enter is sent to us or anyone else. After you click through to another site, that site's own privacy policy applies.
11. Changes and general terms
We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version on this page, with a new effective date. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have as a consumer to bring a claim where you live.
