Who runs it
Ski Week Finder is built and run by [your name] at Lanternfish Media, a small independent UK publisher. It isn't owned by, or part of, any tour operator, travel agent, airline or resort. It doesn't sell holidays or take bookings.
It exists because the usual way to plan a ski week starts in the wrong place. Operators' resort finders show only what they sell and score resorts with star ratings. Snow sites tell you about the weather but nothing about cost. Nobody starts from the questions a British skier actually asks: what does a week cost from my airport, in the week the school lets us go, and is the snow likely to be there?
How resorts are ranked
Each resort gets five scores out of 100 for your answers: snow confidence for that week, how well the skiing suits everyone in your group, what the week costs against your budget, the door-to-door journey from your airport, and the extras you ticked. They are combined with weights that shift with your group and the week. A beginner group puts more weight on suitability, and an April week puts more on snow. The rules are written down in full, with the reason for each one, and nothing about them depends on who pays the site.
- Snow confidence comes mainly from the altitude of the skiing, then which way the slopes face, glaciers, snowmaking and average snowfall, with a penalty for early and late weeks that hits low villages hardest. It is history and geography, not a forecast. The snow-sure resorts guide explains it with every resort's score.
- Cost is the package price for the resort and week (worked back from the operators' own prices, by accommodation level), plus the six-day lift pass, hire, lessons and food you ticked, at child rates for children. What a ski week costs shows the lines for every resort.
- Suitability scores each person against the resort's pistes and ratings, and weights the person with the worst fit most. A family holiday works only if the beginner has a good week too.
Where the figures come from, and how sure we are
We'd rather tell you how good a number is than pretend it's exact. Every figure on the site falls into one of these groups.
- Lift pass prices were checked against 2026/27 sources on 6 November 2026, in euros or francs and converted to pounds at a stated rate. Each resort page names its source and says whether it is the lift company's own list, a guide, last season's price or an estimate.
- Package prices were worked back on 6 November 2026 from the 2026/27 "from" prices on Inghams' and Skiworld's resort pages. Each listing is converted to a standard 3-star half-board or catered-chalet week in low season, then multiplied for each week of the season and your accommodation level. Each resort page says how many listings its figure rests on and links to them. Resorts neither operator sells keep an estimate, and their pages say so. The figures exist to compare resorts, not to quote a holiday. The operator's live price is always the right one.
- Resort facts such as altitudes, piste kilometres, snowmaking cover and transfer times come from the resorts', lift companies' and operators' published figures. They are flagged as unverified until checked against the source, and the flag shows on the page.
- In-resort costs for hire, lessons and lunches are country averages anchored to the Post Office Travel Money Ski Resort Report.
Prices are re-checked each August, when the operators and lift companies publish the new season, and every page carries the date its figures were compiled.
How the site is paid for
Some of the operator, transfer, hire and insurance links are affiliate links. If you book through one, the business pays us a commission and you pay the same price. Results cards and resort pages say "Paid links" wherever this applies. Commission never changes how resorts are ranked, and the guides have no affiliate links at all. An operator appears under "Book it" because it sells that resort, not because it pays.

Mistakes and corrections
If a price, a fact or a link is wrong, we want to know. Email [contact email] with the page and what's wrong, and a source if you have one. Corrections are made and dated on the page.
